The cast is taken from a review in the Glasgow Herald (4 March), complemented by a brief review in the Scotsman (4 March). The Herald reviewer approved the performance of the principals, stating "...all the smaller parts were well filled, and the orchestra, if occasionally a trifle noisy, was generally efficient."
The Herald reviewer commented the attendances have shown that "tunefulness combined with theatrical effectiveness still makes a wide appeal. In view of the condemnation of Strauss's Salome by the New York authorities, it is somehat curious to reflect on the ready acceptance of Rigoletto. More abandoned creatures than the hunchback Jester and the Duke of Mantua never appeared on the stage."
In 1907, Carl Rosa Opera in Scotland spent two weeks at the Glasgow Grand, one at the Alexandra, Greenock and finally one at Edinburgh King’s Theatre (7.30;2pm)
