The Daily Record (6 July) said of the only performance that year by Carl Rosa in Scotland "Mozart's delightfully tuneful music was thoroughly enjoyed last night at the Theatre-Royal, Glasgow, when the Carl Rosa Opera Company presentd the Marriage of Figaro. In the cast were Clara Simons, Phyllis Lansdell, Arthur Winckworth, Frederick Clendon, Constance Willis and Frank Clarke, all of whom did ample justice to the piquant characted ot the story. The cordiality of the reception given the opera was an indication that it might oftener find a place in the company's repertoire."
The touring schedule for Scotland during the year 1918 was as follows:-
The season consisted two weeks at Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum, then four weeks at Glasgow’s Theatre Royal. Following a break of two months or so, the company returned to Glasgow for four weeks and finally a week back at the Royal Lyceum.
