For this performance of the German Requiem, Charles Cowe was now settling in for what would be a thirty year tenure of the post with the Choral Union.
Dorothy Silk and Herbert Heyner were both well-known performers. The baritone was not limited to the concert stage, but sang Wagner in the opera house.
On this occasion the programme was completed by the Bach Cantata 'Sleepers awake!' and the Bach Concerto for Two Violins, in which the soloists from the orchestra were Horace Fellowes and L A Connabeer.
