The combined forces of Cupar Choral Society and Stirling City Choir gave two performances of Verdi's great work, accompanied by an excellent freelance orchestraconducted under the inspirational baton of Michael Segaud.
The gripping Saturday performance in the Cupar Corn Exchange was given in front of a capacity audience of over three hundred. It was well received
The Sunday performance, in front of four hundred, was also warmly received. The programmer note reminded us that applause had been forbidden at the first performance.
While the excellent male soloists were familiar names, the equally impressive ladies were as yet unfamiliar.
