Further performances with three newcomers - Roderick Brydon was an expert Puccini conductor and Catherine Wilson was singing Musetta with Scottish Opera for the first time. When the performances were first announced Kiri Te Kanawa was expected to return, but she had to withdraw, and Linda Esther Gray was given a further opportunity to excel in a new role.
