Conductor.

Richard Evans trained as an Organ Scholar at Jesus College, Oxford, and spent his subsequent career in music education in Tayside and Fife. He started as a teacher before he was appointed in 1970 to the post of Music Organiser in Angus. In 1975 he was appointed Adviser in Music for Fife, retiring in 1994.

He has spent various periods as conductor of Angus Choral Society, Dundee Choral Union and Fife Sinfonia. His operatic work was with Tayside Opera in Dundee then Fife Opera in Kirkcaldy. He also conducted Fife Youth Orchestra and Fife Youth Choir
