Carmen was precisely the kind of popular favourite that the Carl Rosa used to play on a Saturday evening - though in this particular week, any other item from the repertoire could have done as well - a very popular programme.
This was part of Carl Rosa Opera's 1937 tour. (They had missed out visiting Scotland in 1936).
A conventional repertoire was presented for a week at the King's Theatre Edinburgh, followed by two weeks at the King's Theatre Glasgow.
