No review is given of Maritana in either the Scotsman or Herald. This is to be expected as it was the last Saturday evening of the Scottish visit, and there was no further need of such a marketing device.

A list of cast members is given in the Scotsman (6 April) under wireless programmes as the performance was broadcast on the Scottish programme. The cast included Pauline Maunder, Kingsley Lark, Hubert Dunkerley, Godfrey Stirling, Betty Thompson; Charles Draper; Gwilym Jones; Gerrard Olivier; Vanwy Davies  and the conductor was named as Ivan Clayton.

From examination of contemporary casts elsewhere, we can accept that Pauline Maunder sang Maritana and Betty Thompson Lazarillo.  Godfrey Stirling, as one of the company's leading tenors at this period, would have played Don Caesar.  Hubert Dunkerley and Kingsley Lark both played Don José de Santarem at this period, while neither is shown as performing the King, so we have not allocated the parts. Vanwy Davies clearly took the part of the Marchioness.

The Scottish itinerary consisted of one week in Edinburgh followed by two in Glasgow:

Edinburgh, w/c 18 Mar:  Mon  Fledermaus;  Tue Traviata;   Wed Elixir of Love;  Thu Carmen;   Fri Tannhäuser;  Sat m Fledermaus;  Sat e Faust.

Glasgow, w/c 25 Mar:  Mon Fledermaus;  Tue Don Giovanni;   Wed Faust;  Thu Carmen;   Fri Tannhäuser;  Sat m Rigoletto;  Sat e Fledermaus.

Glasgow, w/c 1 Apr:  Mon Carmen;  Tue Faust;  Wed Traviata;  Thu Barber of Seville;  Fri Elixir of Love;  Sat m Fledermaus;  Sat e Maritana.
