Cast details are taken from a review in the Scotsman (8 April), which agree with a programme for 29 March in the OperaScotland collection.
"After a long absence from the Carl Rosa repertory, Nicolai's Merry Wives of Windsor at the King's Theatre last night, was a welcome revival. To many of the large audience, indeed, it must have been a complete novelty. Judging by the applause, it was also a complete success."
As far as Scotland was concerned, the 1943 Carl Rosa season consisted of three weeks in Glasgow, followed by two in Edinburgh. Crowded houses were reported, further evidence being the Wednesday matinees.
