Some cast details were given in a short review in the Scotsman (6 March),
"The house was full, showing that Bizet's charming opera has lost none of its powers of attraction. Miss Phyllis Archibald appeared in the title part, and her representation of the varied moods of gypsy audacity and caprice was splendid, and vocally she did herself great credit. Mr E. C. Hedmondt sang with brilliancy in the part of the soldier lover, and in the passionate finale and in the two interviews with Michaela, bothi his singing and acting were specially praiseworthy. Miss Clara Simon showed a sympathetic Michaela and sang her part with appropriate fervour and restraint. Mr Frank Clarke as Escamillo and Mr Frederick Clendon as Dancaire, assisted ably in what was altogether a fine performance."
