Some details are given in the Greenock Telegraph (10 February).
"The charming music was artistically rendered, and the droll and pungent situations were from start to finish carried with characteristic success. In the dialogues between Falstaff and Ford the rich humour of the one character and the suspicious and fox-like nature of the other were most cleverly delineated by Messrs Winckworth and Victor. The buck basket scene was also one of the triumphs of the performance. The fairy and imps' dance near Herne's Oak in the moonlight was a lovely stage spectacle, and the dancing of Miss Annie Elliott and her bevy of fair elves were greatly enjoyed by the spectators. The scenery all through was appropriate and gorgeous. The orchestra, conducted by Mr Van Noorden, was again a great treat, as it always is in a representation by the Carl Rosa Company."
The company's Scottish performances in 1909 involved one week at the Alexandria, Greenock, one week at the New Gaiety, Ayr followed by two at Edinburgh's King's Theatre and two at the Glasgow Grand.
