English theatrical manager.
T. H. Friend was a well known manager both in opera and straight theatre. For many years he played a key role in the Carl Rosa Opera Company. He and Mr H. Bruce became owners when Augustus Harris (who had been heavily involved following Carl Rosa's sudden death) focussed his efforts on Covent Garden.
We have still to form a full picture of his career, but the last record we have been able to find (in the Stage dated Aug 8, 1912) is that he was once again acting manager and treasurer to the manager of Wyndham's Theatre, Mr W. C. H. Nation.
