The review in the Scotsman (8 April) pointed out that it was the first performance in the role for Ruth Packer, deputising for Helen Ogilvie, who was ill.
"It was a performance which it would be a pleasure to have again. The audience filled every seat in the King's Theatre, perhaps to some degree due to the present increased desire for entertainment."
