Lewys James sang extensively with a number of British companies, including Moody-Manners, Beecham and O'Mara. According to Kobbé, he appeared at Covent Garden in 1912, singing Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte under Beecham. Neville Cardus wrote favourably of his interpretation of Sachs.
