The OperaScotland team have been steadily working away.
The Edinburgh Festival has been the greatest for some years, at least in operatic terms, and we recommend casts and reviews for the following:-
Bohème (2017); Coronation of Poppea (2017); Don Giovanni (2017); King Olaf (2017); Macbeth (2017); Orfeo (2017); Return of Ulysses (2017).
There is also data for Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda (2017); Damnation of Faust (2017); Peter Grimes (2017); Valkyrie (2017).
On the Fringe we saw Marriage of Figaro (2017); while beyond Edinburgh there was L' Occasione fa il ladro (2017) as well as Pearl Fishers (2017).
The OperaScotland archivist has been diligently recovering and entering casts for performances by Carl Rosa. You have been able to view performances from 1874 to 1899 for quite some time, and later ones too.
But we have started to itemise, check and list those in the early 20th century. The company was under the management of the Van Noordens until 1923; subsequently it was under the management of H. B. Philips.
See Aida (1923); Samson and Delilah (1923); Maritana (1923); Carmen (1923); Tales of Hoffman (1923) or Bohemian Girl (1923).
