It is still some time before the regular visit of English Touring Opera to the Perth Festival, although the striking casting of ETO's new Barber of Seville stands out. Our picture shows Nicholas Sharratt as Almaviva and Kitty Whately, winner of the 2011 Kathleen Ferrier award, as Rosina. Following hard on the heels of Scottish Opera's memorable production, one might be tempted to bypass these performances in May. But the casting seems perfect and Perth Theatre such an intimate setting that it seems well worth buying tickets to make the comparison. For more details click here. The other opera to be given is Eugene Onegin, back in Scotland after a five year absence. For more details, click here.
