For some time now, we have not been listing cinema performances or streamings unless they were special such as the BP Big Screen event in Duthie Park, Aberdeen, once a year.
Opera Europa Digital Platform has now launched, offering a series of monthly online showcases of a complete opera from a partner theatres. Opera Europa Digital Platform is a Cooperation Project supported by Creative Europe. The project received €1,855,688 in 2014 and brings together a partnership between Opera Europa, representing 155 opera companies and festivals; the cultural broadcasting channel ARTE; and 15 carefully selected theatres from across Europe. Two UK-based opera companies are taking part in Opera Europa Digital Platform: Welsh National Opera, Cardiff and the Royal Opera House, London.
Opera Europa Digital Platform includes showcase productions alongside shorter films featuring opera across Europe, with each production subtitled in six languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Polish.
