Swansea City Opera is celebrating ten years of existence by touring Gounod's Faust, rarely performed these days despite its well-known wonderful music. One of the stops is Ayr, the only Scottish venue.
Audiences can discover more about the importance of design in staging an opera with the free pre-performance talk when Brendan Wheatley, Swansea City Opera's Artistic Director, reviews the drama of Gounod's music and the problems of creating a new production for the stage.
