New opera quartet

Scotland's national opera company, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is marking the milestone with the performance of four new works.  James MacMillan's Clemency (pictured), a haunting take on the Biblical story of Sarah and Abraham, is about to be staged as part of the Edinburgh International Festival at the King's Theatre.  Also to be shown is The Lady from the Sea, and at the Traverse a double bill of In the Locked Room and Ghost Patrol, , co-commissioned and co-produced by Scottish Opera and Music Theatre Wales
