The latest co-production between the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and Scottish Opera, that of Benjamin Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream, has opened to welcoming reviews. Due to the closure for renovation of the Theatre Royal at this time next year, Dream will be the last production in this remarkable series. Although co-operation between the RCS and Scottish Opera is bound to continue in some form, it is not at all clear if this will involve such ambitious productions as we've seen regularly every January - so book your tickets for the remaining performances! This production is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten's birth, and is that by Olivia Fuchs for the Royal Opera House's Linbury Studio dating from 2005.
