News of Friends of Scottish Opera

Posted 6 Oct 2013

The Friends of Scottish Opera have announced the programme of events for the year ahead.  Under the Chairman, Tony Burton CBE, an improved package is on offer to members.  In addition to the usual mix of branch events, including speakers and coach trips to attend performances, there are to be four designated meeting places for those attending main stage performances.  These are in the Theatre Royal Glasgow (stalls bar), Festival Theatre Edinburgh (Inverarity bar); His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen (Circle bar) and Eden Court, Inverness (Ground floor bar).  Wherever possible Anne Higgins, Friends Manager will be there to greet you.  You are encouraged to wear the Friends' lapel badge.

In addition, those with tickets to a future performance of a production will be able to attend the dress rehearsal.  The scheme will be piloted on Saturday 12 October at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow at the dress rehearsal of Don Giovanni.  If you are a Friend, or interested in becoming one and taking advantage of this opportunity, call Anne Higgins on 0141 242 0599 or e-mail anne.higgins@scottishopera.org.uk.

The meetings of Friends of Scottish Opera are now posted in our listings, month by month.  Check out the events on offer in your area and become a member - the Opera Scotland team are!
