This year's programme includes two new chamber operas, adaptations of old ones, concerts and fresh performances of two classic works.  Opera Bohemia promise their third production, Puccini's Madama Butterfly while Aria Alba Opera for All are performing Mozart's Marriage of Figaro.  Melos Opera are staging Mozart's The Impresario, and Eboracum Baroque promise us a new take on Purcell's classic Dido and Aeneas.  Petersham Playhouse are offering a witty new chamber opera Dr Quimpugh's Compendium of Peculiar Afflications by Martin Ward (Royal Opera) and Phil Porter (RSC). The Crowe Ensemble are also staging a new work, The Francis Bacon Opera, based on Melvyn Bragg's infamous interview with the artist for the South Bank Show in 1985.  Finally, Edinburgh Studio Opera are staging Love and Death:Opera Scenes involving promising young talent performing some of opera's best loved arias and scenes.  Keep watching our website for further details as we post full listings.
