La Clemenza di Tito is now being staged by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland firstly at their Glasgow base and then in Perth in a concert performance. The opera calls out to be seen. The other works of Mozart's maturity roll off the tongue - Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, Magic Flute - why should Clemenza di Tito still be so neglected?
The standard on offer is extremely high - after all, the performers are aiming to make professional careers, and have been drawn from all over the world by the growing reputation of the RCS. All are highly trained and coached by the RCS staff in Scotland's centre for training opera practitioners.
