Scottish Opera's small scale tour this year is of Mozart's Così fan tutte in a new production. Sung in English, it will visit nineteen venues across Scotland from Kirkwall to Kelso and Aboyne to Ayr. With a libretto by the great Da Ponte and the alternative name of School for Lovers, it was undeservedly neglected until the opening of the twentieth century when Richard Strauss promoted it.
In recent decades, Cosi fan tutte has taken its place in the established repertory, and has a particular place in the hearts of Scottish Opera audiences. With stylish costumes and sets, attractive lighting and an intimate production, it is not to be missed.
