Now in its fourth year, 'Previously...' Scotland's History Festival exists as an educational, heritage and cultural festival. 'Previously..' aims to celebrate Scotland's History, to widen access and participation, to create connections and threads between our past, our present and our future.
Naturally, Scotland's enjoyment of opera reaching back to the eighteenth century, OperaScotland felt that this great art should also be represented.
For more than five years now, we have been identifying performance details and tracing dates of first performance of operas in Scotland. Great singers and strong personalities both famous and forgotten have been rediscovered. Come and hear some of the many tales unearthed.
