English Touring Opera's annual visit to the Perth Festival of the Arts has long been a tradition. This year however there is something new - the single performance of Mozart's Magic Flute is to be given in Perth Concert Hall using the orchestra pit. The fully staged performance will be sung in English employing a full set and striking costumes.
The change of venue, though one forced due to the closure of Perth Theatre for rebuilding, offers more opera lovers than ever a chance to see this much praised production.
Mozart's opera has enchanted music and theatre lovers of all ages for hundreds of years, and is an excellent introduction to opera for youngsters. Reviewere have called the production visually stunning, something shown to good effect in the images by Robert Workman here.
