Sir Thomas Allen's superb staging of Rossini's Barber of Seville received a long-overdue revival at Glasgow Theatre Royal on Tuesday, 17 October.
An excellent cast features Samuel Dale Johnson in the title role. Simone McIntosh, Anthony Gregory, David Stout and John Molloy also take leading parts. The company's Music Director Stuart Stratford conducts a stylish and fun-filled performance.
After Glasgow the company takes the production to Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen between now and 25 November.
PS. The OperaScotland team enjoyed it so much at the Glasgow matinee (22 October) that we went back to Edinburgh on 5 November for a second dose on the way back from Newcastle. Sheer bliss!
