Scotland's Festival of New Music, soundfestival, runs this year from 22 October to 9 November in Aberdeenshire. As usual there is a mix of new music in a variety of genres, with artists and composers drawn from far and wide. As Festival Director Fiona Robertson says, 'do come and join us in another new music adventure'.
This year there is again some interesting operatic content. Two short operas are paired in Encouraging New Opera, and David Lang's Pulitzer Prize winning The Little Match Girl Passion.
Gemma McGregor's new Chamber Opera, The Locked Door is being performed, as is Ian Wilson's staged work, The Last Siren.
