Another new opera nears its premiere. Composer Julian Wagstaff, Composer in Residence at Edinburgh University's School of Chemistry, is putting the finishing touches to his hour-long chamber opera set during the Second World War. The opera was commissioned to celebrate the Tercentenary in 2013 of the School of Chemistry. Julian'a previous works have met with critical acclaim, in particular his opera The Turing Test and his piano trio A Persistent Illusion, which is also being given a performance.
