With the new programme for Edinburgh Fringe just announced, opera lovers will immediately pick out Scottish Opera's Seven Deadly Sins, the Brecht Weill piece to be performed in collaboration with Company Chordelia, and there are further chances to see Edinburgh Grand Opera's groundbreaking production of La Prigione di Edimburgo. But other things catch the eye too Amongst the varied offerings, there is a concert performance of Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell (pictured), directed from the harpsichord by Neil Metcalfe. Opera Bohemia are performing Lucia di Lammermoor and Cambridge University Opera are presenting two new chamber operas. There are a number of operatic concerts, involving Aria Alba Opera for All and Edinburgh Studio Opera. Our listings will shortly be displaying these and others in more detail.
