This year's Festival - the fifth - runs from 20-23 October and again celebrates the voice in all its glory.
There is the usual wide range of events to explore, set in venues ranging from St Salvator's Chapel to the Younger Hall. Other locations hosting performance include the Byre Theatre, Topping's bookshop, Hotel du Vin and St Leonard's Chapel. The appealing and accessible programme again includes a number of free events.
As for operatic content, this year offers the first performance in Scotland of an acclaimed production of Mozart's Magic Flute, with a specially commissioned new narration by Scottish author Janice Galloway, a new piano transcription and a stellar cast. You can also catch Scottish Opera's delightful touring production of Donizetti's Elixir of Love on Saturday 22 October. Check our listings to see images and our review here.
