Just announced, the Royal Opera's La bohème is coming to Duthie Park, Aberdeen and Festival Square, Edinburgh in free live screenings of their famous traditional production on Thursday 17 May - earlier than normal due to the Olympics. The other operatic offering, Verdi's Falstaff, is being screened in Festival Square, Edinburgh only - on May 30. BP have been supporting these screenings for 25 years, and the number of venues has increased steadily to the extent that they are eagerly awaited in parts of the country less well served with live opera. The Royal Opera have kindly sent us an image from a previous run of the production, chosen we suppose because one cannot see that the cast is different from the one to be broadcast - or do they have a long range weather forecast for Scotland? Check out our listing for La bohème here and Falstaff here.
