Scottish Opera recently announced the three talented singers selected as their Emerging Artists for season 2012-13. Pictured from left, they are mezzo Katie Grosset, baritone Andrew McTaggart and tenor Rónan Busfield. They are to spend a year with the Company performing, understudying and shadowing principal roles, as well as being given vocal, acting, movement and language coaching along with professional guidance on working in the industry.
Katie is from Edinburgh and is to sing Flora and Annina in La traviata followed by Edith in Pirates of Penzance in the year ahead. She will also tour Scotland with Opera Highlights.
Rónan Busfield's roles include Gaston and Giuseppe in La traviata. Glasgow-born Andrew McTaggart will be singing Marchese d'Obigny in La traviata and Samuel in Pirates of Penzance.
