Praise for Opera Highlights

Posted 3 Feb 2012

The Opera Highlights tour has already won praise in the press.  It includes a new piece, Dance till the Sun Sets  by Scottish Opera's composer in residence, Gareth Williams.  It is being performed alongside a mix of well known arias and ensembles from operas such as Bizet's Carmen, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Puccini's Madama Butterfly, as well as a sprinkling of lesser-known works from the likes of Rimsky-Korsakov's Sadko and Britten's Paul Bunyan.

A cast of talented singers are visiting venues across Scotland - click on our listing for details, and then on the pins to book tickets..

The programme has been picked by Scottish Opera's Head of Music, Derek Clark, who says "It's great to include a new piece of work in the Opera Highlights programme, particularly as Gareth has worked closely with the singers in revising the piece. It will make a real treat for the audiences and fits well with the rest of thr programme."
