The next concert by the Orchestra of Scottish Opera is to be held as part of the commemoration of the 850th anniversary of the founding of Paisley Abbey - check out our listing on this page. Also, to mark the bicentenary of the births of both Wagner and Verdi, a concert is to be held on Sunday 27 January, conducted by Francesco Corti, in City Halls, Glasgow. This involves both the symphony orchestra of the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and the RCS chorus. The soloists include, (as Fiesco) in extracts from Act 1 finale and Act 3 of Simon Boccanegra, Brian Bannatyne-Scott, a Scottish bass who travels the world but rarely sings here in his homeland.
