The programme for the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival on the planet, has been announced. As it nears the seventieth anniversary of its foundation, the Fringe remains true to its principle of open access and there are plenty of varied offerings.
Among the varied offerings are Opera Bohemia's Traviata with Catriona Clark, Magnetic Opera's La bohème and Ayrshire Opera's Descent o' Orpheus tae the Underwarl.
Away from the mainstream is a children's show, Opera Mouse, and two companies offering the Mikado, affording a chance to make a comparison.
This year the Fringe runs from 5 August to 29 August. As usual, there are a number of operatic shows. Get your diaries out and follow the listings on the right!
