A new opera company based in Glasgow, Clyde Opera Group, has announced its first production.  The group's opening performances will be of Puccini's La bohème. There are to be two performances, 30 and 31 July in Blythswood Hall (Renfield S Stephen's Centre), Bath Street, Glasgow.

The stage director is Tom Cooper, conductor Razvan Luculescu and accompanist Ancuta Doyle. The international cast includes soloists drawn from Spain, Italy, USA, Mexico, Romania, Sweden, Norway, Ireland and of course Scotland and England.

Clyde Opera Group is planning to develop more opera projects, concerts and other events. The aim is for these opportunities to help soloists at the outset of their careers to perform a role in a staged production, supported by a professional orchestra. There will also be chances to perform in different concerts in other countriesl.

Clyde Opera are planning to make use of a reduced orchestra of around 30 players.
