Having performed Verdi's Falstaff (2005) and Nicolai's Lustigen Weiber (2013), the RCS Opera department completes its operatic Falstaffian trilogy with Vaughan Williams' colourful and lyrical Sir John in Love.
Originally titled The Fat Knight, Sir John was first performed at the Royal College of Music in 1929 and received its first professional performance in 1946 at Sadler's Wells.
Don't miss this irresistibly energetic opera which offers a genuine sense of theatrical comedy and endless 'treasure chest' of Vaughan Williams' finest melodies, married with the English folk style.
