World premiere of the fully orchestrated opera Simoon by Scottish composer, Erik Chisholm, the performance forms part of Glasgow's 2015 West End Festival and the Cottier Chamber Project.
With a libretto from the play of the same name by August Strindberg, the opera will be performed live to a commissioned film by director Roddy Simpson, with dancers Salma Faraji and Erick Mauricia, and actor Michael Daviot, with Kevin Axel.
Jane Irwin and Charlie Drummond sopranos, Philip Sheffield tenor and Damian Thantrey baritone with McOpera, are conducted by Ian Ryan.
The last of Chisholm's murder mystery trilogy 'Murder in Three Keys', Simoon is a psychological thriller set in the hot desert.
Erik Chisholm (1904-1965) is increasingly recognised as a significant figure in Scottish musical history and this is sure to be a night to remember.
