In an enterprising move, Michael Downes, Artistic Director of the Byre Theatre at St Andrews, has launched a jam-packed series of outdoor concerts, performances, screenings and family fun. These are to be held at St Andrews Botanic Gardens, one of the most beautiful settings in the whole of Fife.
For opera lovers there is a screening of Wagner's Meistersingers, in the Glyndebourne Encore series. This is supplemented by the first visit to Scotland of the acclaimed OperaUpClose company with their award winning production of Bizet's Carmen and a Shakespeare themed evening including operatic arias inspired by his work.
Our image shows the audience enjoying the experience.
Don't miss the live performances by OperaUpClose - find more information about their Carmen here, and about the marvellous Shakespeare-themed programme Music Oft Hath Such a Charm here.
